The Diploma in Mass Communication is a 2.5 years programme (Full-time delivery mode) or 4 years programme (Part-time delivery mode) that will give the learner the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a career in media and communication, international media, journalism and professional writing and marketing communication and advertising related field. Graduates may act as a supporting line to professional and specialist groups in the areas of journalism, public relations, advertising, broadcasting or publishing. The programme will also develop the learner’s passion for working with different media to ensure effective communication of facts, product and information to the masses and build the learner’s knowledge of research, behavior of customers, public relations and ethics in the communication and media industries. The opportunity to study specific areas such as radio journalism, copywriting, reporting and editing will give the learner a focus on interest areas when the learner starts working in communication and media industries.
